Roll Update work underway in Hula and Irupara Wards in Rigo
PNG Electoral Commission has started updating it's Electoral Roll in Hula and Irupara in the Rigo district. It was an overwhelming turnout as the people in the area flocked to check their names on the Electoral Roll. The Electoral Roll update exercise signifies the start of the Nationwide Electoral roll update as the Electoral Commission prepares for the 2017 National and LLG elections.

PNGEC's training section to conduct Enrolment Officers training in Kwikilla, Rigo District on the 20th July 2016. The training is specifically for the ROs and AROs to basically educate them before the Enrolment exercise commences.

PNG Electoral Commission launches nation wide Electoral Roll update in Rigo, Central Province. Milne Bay and Central province will be the first to start updating their Electoral Roll followed by the rest of the provinces.

Heads of Missions meet with the PNG Electoral Commission to discuss preparations for the 2017 National and LLG Elections. The meeting was the first of its kind where all High Commissioners, Ambassadors and Representatives were all present at one time to show their support to the PNG Electoral Commission and their preparations for 2017.
Dion Issues Writs for LLG By-elections in Central Province
Minister for Inter-Government Relations and Deputy Prime Minister Sir Leo Dion today issued LLG by-election writs for three more vacancies that have occurred in Rigo district, Central province. Nominations have opened at 4pm this afternoon and intending candidates can register their nominations with the Returning Officer Kila Egaba at the Central Electoral Office in Boroko.
Transparency Key Principle for Credible Elections
Transparency is a key principle for credible elections in PNG, Electoral Commissioner Patilias Gamato told participants of the 10th Annual Sir Antony Siaguru Walk Against Corruption at the Jack Pidik Park at five mile in Port Moresby this morning after the conclusion of the walk. The 4.3 kilometers walk covered the Boroko area only but there was overwhelming support.
